Default Best Buy Striks Again

Apparently best Buy doesn't like it if you tell one of their customers that something they are selling is overpriced. They don't like it enough to call the police.

heh no surprise... I love telling people that they can buy it for sometimes half the price brand new online... but it is rare that I go into BB anymore so can't really spread the word.

Thanks HL and Corsair!

Far be it for me to say, but looking at Best Buy on a local scale (Greater Cleveland Burbs) they seem to be staffed for the better part by idiots for want of a better word. Now this is not to say any and all Best Buy stores are staffed by idiots. This is simply to say locally I see idiots.

Some time back I actually did a Google (Google is your friend) study of the Best Buy pay scales. Though good for profit margin, the wage scales were not quite lucrative for bright intelligent workers that were looking for a long term position in the work force. Read into this that in many cases Best Buy does not draw the brightest LED in your home computer system. Therefore on a scale of 1 to 10 my surprise at this is about a minus (-) 3.

About a week ago I stopped at a local Micro-Center to purchase a few things. Wandering the aisles of software looking for Microsoft Expression Web (for the laptop) I overheard a conversation. The customer was looking for Microsoft Visual Studio 2005 to work with strictly Visual C++. The salesman (who I was waiting for) seemed at a loss. This customer was totally new to the programming environment. My upgrade version of Visual Studio at that store retails for $199.

I pointed out to the customer what he should try is going home and downloading the Express Version of Visual C++ for free. That would be a good start. Then work from there as he learned the program. I explained everything and the customer went happily on his way. I then went and bought Expression Web upgrade for $99.00 or whatever and went on my way. No harm, no foul.

When Best Buy does stupid stuff they should expect the consequences of doing stupid stuff in a business environment. Maybe if they would pay a better scale and better train floor people they would fare better in issues like this. What the link produced was a culmination of idiots thinking.

Just My Take
Ron

Thats quite pathetic calling the police like that, surely its none of their bussiness what the customers say to each other, and should have the right to discuss prices, especilly such a rip-off like that. I'd be annoyed if it was me, very annoyed.

And don't forget to sue the Store, the store sales rep, the manager and the 'tough guys' at the door.

They crossed a line of free speach even though in their own store. Like I mentioned, they are not all that bright.
