| "The two firms have been rubbing the sticks ever since the Spring of 2005, when Apple agreed to use Intel's desktop and mobile class processors to further the development of its Mac product line, leaving behind an ailing relationship with PowerPC chip supplier IBM. In the months that followed, Intel went on to form an internal 'Apple Group' comprised of engineering and sales staff who serve to aid Apple's engineers in Intel-related product development, while pitching to the computer maker new technologies from its own internal skunkwork operations. By last March, the two industry heavyweights were admittedly on to something when Deborah Conrad, vice president and director of Team Apple at Intel, told a group of CNet reporters that Apple's way of looking at the world was making Intel "think different" about its own business." | Level 2 College Student | Rubbing the sticks? Who chose those words..... and who thought that it wouldn't be mis-interpreted. As much as I can't stand to see anything Apple marketing related, or mp3 related, I do think their machines are best for non-gaming apps. You won't see me owning anything apple anytime in the near future, but if I work in an environment where a quad-core gfx beast or some sort of programming god exists I will definitely use it. And Intel <3'n Apple only will make it oh so much sweeter |

Another thing I won't be having for a long time. LoL. If/When I ever buy a mac (for work) I would most likely run XP on it if I had to put any Windows on it. -I'm not saying MAC's aren't good. Its very obvious that the best mac is much > than the best pc. I'm saying I like being able to upgrade my computer, so I wont own one for personal use.

| I wouldn't say that. It's greater in some areas and less in others. |

I've always viewed a Mac as a work computer.

so Intel is going to start locking hardware into an exclusive mode so that only Vista or only OSX will run on it? May as well start buying AMD once they start doing that. ![]() Thanks HL and Corsair! My opinions are my own and not representative of this site or its members.
