| They seem to be going through GPU's rather quickly, you think? Wouldn't it be smarter to release a new card every few months (not weeks) so they don't screw everybody that just bought brand new cards (i.e. HD3870 or the HD2900XT)? | HL's Technomancer | Not from a marketing standpoint. Right now AMD can care less about screwing over people with older R600's and more about getting some competition out there for Nvidia; which their doing pretty good with so far with the HD 3000's. You can't reclaim the market by sitting on a dead product, that's a Netburst mistake. Instead you need to get new stuff out fast, stuff thats better and faster to try and get as much attention, media coverage, and potential consumers as possible. New releases also lead to new press releases, both of which make investors happy and keep your financing flowing in. |

| That's true, but I would think that everybody that just got screwed would go over to Nvidia's side, instead of getting another AMD card. But that's just me, and I think strange...
