Angry Almost a Victim of Identity Theft

i had an experience last night as i do my account check every other day,
and i see a charge to my debit card of NOZZELDEPOT.COM, i never heard of such site and charging me for something, so i called my bank to have a dispute made and give me back my money for i never authorized such debit, and to a fact i never visited the site.

i was so paranoid last night i have to stay awake until i finish talking to this very nice rep of my bank over the phone, requested new debit card, change of PIN and a close monitoring of my account the next 90 days as per security procedure they have, so now i have no access for my money for next 10 days until they send my new card.

now i have to fix all my card in all site i buy regularly like Newegg, PayPal, Verizon, Cingular, and all my bills connected to that card...

now a days online banking is really too risky, but since most of my billing goes online i have to take the risk... last night i have to run a complete clean up of my computer from Anti Virus, Anti Malware/Spyware, Anti-PopUp, and CCleaner, and all traces of identity on my comp, and i have to change all the password on all my online account, unbelievable work and suffering coz someone would rather steal some other people hard earned cash rather than work their @$$ off for their own money.

to all of my HL family beware and be careful online Identity Theft is for real!!!

Yeah, I'm scanning my computer as we speak... This is quite sad. I've found like 6 viruses... I installed Vista on Saturday.

I use my debit card only at ATMs. They too easily to lead into the sort of problems you're having and, depending on the state you live in and your bank's policy, you may be liable for the charges. Get a credit card and use it for all your on-line and other non-cash transactions. You're only liable for $50 in case of fraud, and believe me, the bloodhounds at the credit card company will track down anyone responsible for fraud and take care of those $%@#$%s!!!

Here are a few tips from the master, Frank Abnignale: Tips from Frank Abagnale on how to avoid identity theft

I just got done reading a great article about a guy who goes and pulls credit card pranks just to expose flaws in the system. His latest prank is where he uses one of his aliases to make absurd credit card purchases on a citibank card with id theft protection. The alarms never get triggered when he makes a purchase at Armani, Tiffany and CO, and Home Depot all in one day. He bought enough fertilizer, bleach and gas to blow up a building so he figured someone would catch it. It's a great read when he finally calls Citibank, the mp3 of the call is hilarious and scary at the same time. Check it out. Credit Card Criminal: The Identity Theft Prank

actually i never used other ATM aside from my bank alone, and just a cautious as i am, i check my account so often just to make sure no charge get through without me noticing it...

and this mp3 man is killing me with lol and yet i find the identity theft protection a very weak procedure and he is right its very easy to bypass...
