Default Airsoft/Paintballing/Firearms

I know I'm a good deal out aged by most of the guys on this forum so their may be limited responses here but I was wondering if anyone else has tried some Woodsball or MilSim Airsofting?

About two years ago my friends and I picked up a bunch of CO2 airsoft pistols and lowered their FPS until they chronoed for CQ Indoor use (about 230 FPS where they wouldn't put dents in our crappy apartments walling). Each day for about a week we would have SWAT style airsoft fights both in and out doors. After about a month some of us bought spring or electric rifles (I got a $100 H&K G3). We played all summer in the woods behind my moms apartment. Once fall rolled around one of our buddies bought a Tippmann 98C Pro (the workhorse of entry level paintball guns at the time). Of coarse we all had a blast messing around with it tagging trees in the woods so over the winter everyone acquired themselves paintball guns and proper safety gear. Then in the spring 6 of us were able to go out and play a looong game of Woodball.

It was fun but we quickly learned the paintballing is way more expensive. In fact, a little out of our price range so my fiancee and I sold our guns and most of our gear to get back on track with rent that month.

To avoid making a long story even longer I was just wondering if anyone else here plays/played paintball or airsoft? Guns you use? How often you play? etc.

EDIT: Oh ya, while I'm on the subject I was considering buying a real firearm to see if gun collecting would be a hobby I could get into. I do not intend to buy one for personal safety as I live in a very small town of 300 where the crime rate is pretty much zero. The neighboring town of 15,000 has one homicide a year, if that.

LOL. I wouldn't be surprised if one of my friends did but I take gun safety as far as airsoft and paintball very seriously. I have the battery removed from my airsoft rifle unless I'm actually outside and wearing protective eye ware. When I had my paintball guns they had gun condoms on and the tanks removed until everyone had masks on. Even then the safety stayed on until I had my sights on a target.

I'd use my old CO2 M9 for that kind of work. It looked a lot more realistic.

It's the fact that most of their workers have a hard time with the English language. Gives you a longer time to get away.

lol but seriously, I really would like to check out some firearms. As I said its just a hobby I'm interested in checking out. I particularly want to look at something along the lines of the M1A1 Carbine or Mini 14.

Real guns are dangerous and evil. Why would anyone want to own a gun?

OK, on a more serious note. When it comes to firearms, any firearm as in long gun, rifle or shotgun, short gun as in pistol or revolver you need to ask yourself what you want and the intended purpose. Intended purpose discounting late night visits to the 7-11 or Quickie Mart.

I can't be of much help with the paintball thing, other than I found a gold mine filling tanks. However, in the general area of firearms I have a pretty good working knowledge. Interesting and fun hobby.

Ron

Around here most of them speak the English language, they just can't read or write it.

I always thought Quickie Mart ment something else.

My school friend is crazy about paintball. He has an Eclipse Ego6 paintball gun and all the safety equipment.
