Well. Thats interesting. What exactly does a rifle have to be to have the youth label? Is it a pellet gun? What caliber is it? A bear can take a lot of shots if you don't hit a vital organ.

I totally agree with this Rich.

I hunted deer, rabbit, squirrel and turkey as a kid. In my adult life, I rarely did. I don't at all now.

You wanna impress me? Alright. Then do some REAL sport hunting. Go into the woods with a bow and 3 arrows and bring one turkey out. Go into the woods with twine and a knife and bring back some rabbits. Go into the woods with a spear and a knife and drag out a bear. THEN I will agree that was sport hunting and worth the efforts.

Hunting a bear with a rifle? Meh.

Appalling! I guess I just don't see any reasoning to it. I also have hunted extensively, and am a pretty avid shooting enthusiast. If you don't plan on eating it there is no reason to shoot and kill it.

A "Youth" gun / rifle / shotgun is generally just a smaller rifle or shotgun with the stock length reduced. Youth guns are generally in a small caliber or gauge. Although some can be of a larger caliber:

The family plans to get a life-sized mount of the bear but is not sure where they will put it, KATV-TV reported.

I have a few ideas on where they could put it... Maybe they could shove it up grandpa's ....

Then too the story sort of smacks of maybe a lack of truth, not to mention Tre's grandfather's statements seem to reflect the IQ of my coffee cup.
