| I guess it's too much work to process your rebate. Fry's: 1,300 Unopened Rebate Applications Found In Dumpster - Consumerist |

| I gave up on rebates a long time ago. Just look for the best price, fill out the rebate form if there is one, then forget about it. Sometimes I find a nice surprise in my mail box! (The worst one was on an SD card from Best Buy. I think that one took over six months.) | Functional Alcoholic | You can't really blame all of this on Fry's, like the article says it happened at a rebate company, that probably handles other stores as well. I agree rebates are a bunch of BS, I don't even count them as saving money really. Like Carl said, if I get a rebate check in the mail then great. Most of the time it's really no more then $10 or $15. Not enough to change your life, but enough to go to a movie and get a soda. |

| I'm just guessing here, but I would wager its not the first time that rebate handling company has dumped rebate paperwork. And why would they dump nothing but Fry's rebates? I would also suspect that Fry's (or someone at Fry's) knew about this. Rebates = scam for the most part, and I wouldn't mind seeing some stricter state or federal regulations on the practice. I wonder how many of those rebates Fry's will honor now that someone busted them (and the rebate company) out about this?
