Default Windows XP OEM???

Ok kinda freaking out here. Builing my first build, spent 130 bucks on the windows xp oem 1 pack OS and im rly rly concerned on whether it would work or not. Package says it needs OPK (oem preinstallation kit) already intalled on the hard drive for it to work. After a lil more research i found that OPK only comes in the OEM 3 pack not the 1 pack. Did i buy the wrong one or will it still work on my newly bought HD? If i did f*** up which version of XP do i need to buy?

Should work fine, Go ahead and try to install it....if it doesn't work I'd RMA it.

Unless something has changed, you only need to buy a qualifying component from a dealer to be eligible to use the OEM version......if you bought a motherboard, CPU, kit of memory, etc with that OEM disk, then you are completely legal.

You don't need the OPK.
Normally there's 1 OPK CD shipping with each box of Windows XP OEM your order (if you order a 3-pack it comes with 1 CD) but that's only for system builders.

(sigh of relief)
ok thats good to hear. i guess it was the big warning sticker on the package that threw me off, pretty much saying that it would only work on hard drives with the preinstallation already on it

thnx guys
