| hey guys i work at a local shop, and we need 5 more computers, and all of them need to play CSS. We have just over 5 grand to spend, and i was wondering how well this would play it. if it will play it with decent frame rates on a mediocre monitor, we will be able to put a lot more into some nicer rigs. thanks guys! | No, it will not. Those integrated graphics would run just about as well as Vista on a Commodore 64. You should look into building the PCs yourself. |

But really, integrated graphics just suck man!!!! Also it ISN'T a 3800 dual core, which really doesn't matter all that much, but it sounds like you are setting up a "internet cafe" type of gig! Know one will want to play CS:S with choppy frame rates!!! | |

| we do, and that's what we were planning to do, but i saw this, and wasn't sure of the graphics solution on it so i thought i'd ask. just hoping to save some money, thanks for the answer. we were hoping to save money so we could get better monitors, or step up the video card or something in the other rigs. For the other ones we're planning on the cheapest conroe, (overclocking it of course) a 7600gt, and a 1gb of corsair ram on a gigabyte board. sometime next week we'll have the budget all figured out and we'll order all the parts ; ) i love build sessions, heh. Last time i built four pc's in an afternoon. Then spent the next week getting windows to run right, and double check the wiring lol Last edited by JazzyJake; January 5th, 2007 at 18:17. |

| The engine Half Life 2 and Counter Strike Source use utilises the processor more than the videocard. If you have a low-midrange card, say a 7600 GS, and a x2 3800 you will be able to play the game at very high settings. ![]() I Like Watercooling. D-Tek Fuzion, MCP655, MCR220 |

| Colonel Calamity | I think it would but somewhere around 10fps I would find or build a smaller midtower setup with a basic X1300 or 6900 video card and 1GB RAM apiece, maybe AMD 3200/3400+... or if you will be running a CSS server for LAN, save some cash on the gamer setups and use a better cpu/memory with integrated sound/video for the server I play CSS on my setup below at typically 40fps on the most demanding maps and up to 120fps on basic maps ![]() Thanks HL and Corsair! | 5,000 dollars can build 5 NICE computers able to play source and more. For good frame rates and eye candy, an X1600 or equivalent GPU is needed.
