Default USB Troubles

Hi guys, my computer has done something pretty wierd. When I try and use one of the USB ports, the device seems to work for a couple of seconds and then stops.

My PC then tells me that the device is malfunctioning...when then first happened I figured the device (Wireless Network Adapter) was broken as I've had a lot of trouble with it before. A few minutes later I thought I'd link up my Ipod and the same happened again. At this point I thought I'd test another device (Flash Drive) and again it happened, so I think its a problem with the computer rather than my Ipod, Wireless Adapter and Flash Drive breaking all at the same time.

The computer had been previously left on all day, but I had turned it off to give it a rest for a few hours. Everything was working when I turned it off and the problems started the next time I turned on the computer.

What do you guys think is the problem?

Where is the USB port located - front or rear? Does the problem happen in both locations, or only on the one connection?

I take it then that you do not have a USB mouse and keyboard, or other peripherals. Motherboard?

No my Keyboard and Mouse aren't connected through the USB ports so I can still use my computer somewhat.

So you think it's the Mobo thats shot?
