Default summer upgrade.

i was wondering what i should buy this summer.

i was looking at either:

x2 3800+ after price drop

2 x 1 g.skill

good 7.1 sound system

another gig of ocz gold ram + 5.1 sound system

good water cooling solution

new HDD with another gig of OCZ gold ram.

Anything else come up to mind? I'll have mabye 200-300 to spend at the very most. Of course, this is Canadian dollar.

EDIT: i could also save up my money and get a PS3.

What monitor are you running? You could upgrade to a really nice 19" LCD for around $300. Otherwise I would go with an X2 3800 / Opteron 165 or a nice speaker system. Monitors and speaker systems have a much longer technology life than chips, cards, and boards do so I always look to see if those areas can be upgraded first.

Apparently the 20GB version lacks output ports. I believe it has no HDMI. Something like that.

- Core 2 Quad Q6600
- DFI Infinity 975X
- 4GB Corsair XMS2 w/ DHX DDR2-800
- 250GB Seagate 7200.10RPM + 160GB Hitachi 5400.4RPM
- ATi Radeon X1900XT 256MB
- Cooler Master Centurion 5 + OCZ StealthXStream 600W
- Acer 19" P191W Monitor
- Logitech Z-5500 Digital + Logitech MX Revolution
- Vista Ultimate x64

i got a better cooling system now for my cpu.

aquagate mini 120.

So i guess i don't have to worry about getting a new HSF anymore. I think my cpu is actually fine cuz i can get it at 2700mhz. I'll prolly end up saving up for either good sound system or a better video card.
