Depending on which part of your rig you want to test, there are lots of options. I have some that I have used, and for what they're worth, they tell me that my system is performing like it should. Here are some that I have:

- BenchEmAll (for testing your system against a host of gaming platforms. It uses actual game templates, and I think if you actually have the games it uses, it's more helpful)
- CPUBurnIn (a CPU stress program)
- MemTest (Like a BIOS version, but OS based and tests memory for errors, simple bench tests)
- MetaBench (CPU and Video benchmarks)
- Prime95 (another CPU stress test, also used for finding primes)
- StressPrime2004 (sort of the same thing as P95)
- Toast (a simple CPU test)
- VideocardStabilitytest (a video card stress test - beware, the GPU heats up to max really fast on this one)
- RightMarkMemory (tests memory, SPD and many other RAM functions)
- 3DMark05/06 (Video card testing for graphics performance and fps. Choose the version depending if you have single core (3DM05) or dual core (3DM06))

If it's not fixed, then don't broke it!

And if you have a single core processor like me, it's really fun - if you enjoy slideshows
