Default So you just love Vista do you?

Well you might want to get your reading on to find out just how Vista stacks up to XP when it comes to security. Remember that Microcrap promoted Vista based almost solely on it's security.

Yea it's basically just a warmed over XP and not worth the price of upgrade unless you game and then only if you can spend to upgrade your video card as well as your OS. Hopefully the real OS they should have introduced will come out with the next release.

Interesting, but I didn't get Vista for the "security," I knew it wouldn't stop anything any better than XP. Hell I disabled defender and disabled UAC as soon as I installed it, I'm letting me deal with security, not MS

Security? What's that? Man, I want it purely because it looks pretty. Yeah, it's the eye candy I want.

Seriously, I sort of agree with Panda Man. A fair part of security should be common sense on the part of the end user. You cannot make any OS foolproof as fools are ingenious people. Commonsense.exe is frequently lacking among users.

That is so true, which is why M$ has promoted their new OS to people that don't have the "commonsense.exe" file on their HD as being something that it is not "secure". Sure it has the new DX 10 but like Joker said, unless you want to shell out your savings to play the new games..... And the eye candy you say? My XP looks almost exactly like Vista all for the flip screen thing and there ain't no relearning where the controls are. Just making a point that DX 10 is the ONLY thing Vista has going for it.

I only like Vista for the DX10 support and a few desktop features. It's pretty to look at, but gimmie an old, hunch-backed hard worker (XP Pro) for my serious OS chores.

I just installed Vista and I have to say... it's not half-bad. The new looks are great, and it works exactly the same as XP. I haven't experienced any problems yet and this "DRM" hasn't affected me either.

Nothing has affected anything I regularly do. I'm happy. All my games play, all my programs run, very fast and smooth (definitely more so than XP) and very sexy. Personally, I'd take Vista's Flip3D and all its animations over Mac OS's any day.

I agree with ST!X. The reason I moved over to Vista was because XP was running like a total POS. It would take minutes to load the computer. I would also never have access to anything (system locked up) for the first minute or so before start up.

On top of that, it just ran slow. Vista runs smooth as hell. There's a few quirks and crashes I get on a normal basis (actually, just FF when launching it via GMail Notifier), but I can live with it.
