A surge protector is a MINIMUM....I'd strongly recommend a UPS as it provides the same benefits and then some.

INTEL QX9650
ASUS Maximus Extreme
4GB DDR3-1600
Sapphire HD 3870X2
Danger Den Torture Rack (Custom W/C)
Seagate 750GB HDD
BFG ES 800W PSU

Nothing sucks worse than fubbered up equipment when it was preventable. Surge protectors are so inexpensive these days. A battery back up is pretty a pretty cheap option these days too, if you don't need any frills. Some PC distributors offer them free or discounted with a new system.

oh i see thanks, never even knew that.

i see you use enermax galaxy also :D only the 1 kw version

and the rest of your build is similar to mine only maybe a bit better

which ups battery do you use? or would you recommend?

will this one do fine? as i have no idea which 1 i need (lets say my comp is same as yours)

Canada Computers - Power Supplies/Equipments > UPS Battery Backup : APC Back-UPS ES 500 - UPS ( external ) - AC 120 V - 500 VA - UPS battery lead acid - 8 output connector(s) .

or do i need more powerful one?

these forums are awsome!
