Default Patent troll Rambus sues nvidia

DailyTech - Rambus Sues NVIDIA for Patent Infringement

http://www.rambus.com/us/news/press_...8/080710a.html

Quote:
Rambus says NVIDIA products infringe on 17 Rambus patents

Rambus is no stranger to the world of patent infringement suits. Today it announced that it filed a patent infringement suit against NVIDIA in the United States District Court for the Northern District of California. The suit alleges that NVIDIA infringed upon Rambus patents with a variety of its products including NVIDIA products with memory controllers for SDR, DDR, DDR2, DDR3, GDDR, and GDDR3 SDRAM. In all Rambus alleges that NVIDIA has infringed on 17 Rambus patents.
Rambus said that it pursued licensing agreements with NVIDIA for years with no agreements being made. Rambus wants injunctive relief barring further infringement, contributory infringement, and inducement to infringe the patents in question. Rambus also seeks monetary damages for the alleged infringement.
what a bunch of jackasses... any company that uses any type of memory in any device or hardware item is being sued by Rambus once they won the first original lawsuit....

This is the asshattery that will only screw the consumer and cause prices on anything with memory chips to go up in price...

I say shut down Rambus and release all patents of theirs to the tech community with no royalties due to anyone and freely usable to everyone... Rambus got screwed and now they are taking revenge on anyone that uses any type of DDR memory chip in their device.

I just hope another nicer company develops better memory than Rambus, sells the patents around and out flanks them in one fell swoop... i hope they use bows and arrows too!

Yes i dont want the prices of things to rise lol.

hopefully someone can bring MRAM to the memory market to get people out from under Rambus... plus whats nice about that is MRAM can replace system memory, flash memory and BIOS chips...
