Good, strong build, however:

I wouldn't trust the SP-450

450W and dual rail with 12V1@15A and 12V2@17A, plus I've heard bad stories about this PSU. The reviews at the egg aren't so hot either. This is tad under-powered for your system.

Newegg.com - Antec SmartPower 2.0 SP-450 450W Power Supply - Retail

I'd pop in a nice Fortron/OCZ or Seasonic PSU with at least 550W and a combined total of at least 32A on the 12V rails (The Antec meets this requirement however)

Newegg.com - OCZ GameXStream OCZ600GXSSLI 600W Power Supply - Retail

Quad-rails to enlarge your epenis, all at 18A.

This is just my recommendation, someone will probably come along and trash this whole post.

I figure it should be enough as I don't run much extra stuff or addin cards. No external backup drives, no USB hubs, just the basics. The only 2 cards added in will be the X1950GT and the X-Fi.
The XP3000+ in my sig has been running with an Antec 350W Smart Blue with 8A@115V and thats even with the cpu TDP at 72W, the E6400 is ?65W? IIRC... this is with an addin NIC, sound card, 4 port USB PCI card, 2CDROMs, 2 hard drives, 2-3 sticks of memory and typically 3-5 USB items connected to it all on the A7N8X2.0, no problems at all in 2 years (yet the previous generic 300W was very problematic after 2 weeks of running it).
On this new system there will be less connected so the 450W should be fine. The memory Voltage, cpu voltage, and more are all lower than on my current XP3000+ system...

edit: I entered all this stuff into the Power Supply Calculator and this system build with E6400 shows 294W.
Yet for my XP3000+ system it suggests a 359W PSU

No worries Screwball, I'd be very surprised if that power supply choked on your system (barring a bad unit). People tend to over-estimate just how much power is really needed - it wasn't that long ago when Antec's Neopower 480w was considered high end, and rigs running dual 7800GTX cards in SLI have been powered with that puppy.

The Sonata II case/PSU is a great combo, and one we recommend fairly frequently. Enjoy your new rig!

Yep, I've never had an issue with any of the 10+ ANTEC PSUs I've used. I've also built three systems over the past year using that Sonata II w/ 450W and those systems are about the same as yours.....so you'll be fine

bleh, it was the Antec that really worried me, as I know they have a good reputation, but over the past few months all I've heard about it how *INSERT NAME HERE* has been have problems with *INSERT ANTEC POWER SUPPLY HERE*, and then recently my friend Landon in Troy got the shaft with an Antec Truepower. But if you 2 like 'en, go for it!

I'm just saying I hear stuff like that abot every PSU company, but have never had any issues with ANTEC, or other reputable PSU company myself.

My only advice is not to get caught up in the "bigger is better" crap thats going around the net.......you'll be fine with a 600-700W PSU for anything short of a Quad SLI system

True, I've just been hearing some horror stories about them, that's why I'm going OCZ/Fortron/Seasonic/Tagan :D

Most ridiculous thing I've ever seen was someone posting his PC specs about a video issue.

"My system is a P4 1.6GHz, a Jetway 9600XT, onboard sound, a 40GB Hard disk, a 48x CD-RW drive, and a 450W PSU"

someone's reply - "Hmm, 450W, that seems a bit low for your system"
