I made this configuration for a friend who's computer I am building. Tell me what you think. He will be playing games but would like good performance in other areas. He will not be overclocking. His budget is 1500.

that set-up looks good to me. under budget too so if he wanted he could jump up to a 7900GT if there ever in stock :?

I would up the video card also. I would also go with a less expensive case but thats just me.

I would replace the 3700+ with an X2 3800+ or an Opty 165. I'd replace the case with the Sonata II as it is a better case and includes a 450W PSU.
Use the money he saved to get a better video card.

Yeah, I agree with Capper on the case, you could save a lot of money there by getting the Sonata II and using the decent included PSU. You could also check out the P150, but the Sonata II is cheaper and I think it looks better.

And yeah, it does seem like you still have some budget money to play with. I would also agree with bumping up to a budget dual core processor and then using the leftover $ for the best video card possible.

His parents actually want to keep the cost below 1300. I don't really want to go with the Sonata II because its very cramped. If i remove the duct, which I would, there would be no intake. I've checked the front for any intake fans but there is no slot.

I might get the P150. I'll look into some other choices.

Ummm, you can attach a 120mm fan to the back of the HDD cage. there are included rubber grommets which attach the fan.
None of that should be a problem if he doesn't plan on overclocking

Yeah, there is room for a 120mm fan in the bottom front of the Sonata II ;)
