I am not sure this will really have any impact on the industry. PC Power & Cooling, while an excellent company was very nitch market due to their pricing. This is kind of like Antec or Thermaltake buying Lian-Li , kind of interesting but nothing major in the end.

Thats why a company like OCZ buying it, with their marketing dept....will have an impact.

With more marketing comes more publicity, comes more advertising, comes more sales.......tying PC P& C in with OCZ will probably mean slightly lower prices along with the power supplies being more widely available

WOW. As long as PC Power and Cooling keeps the quality of their products the same (or better) than we could see some great products for much lower prices.

I Like Watercooling. D-Tek Fuzion, MCP655, MCR220

This is pretty sweet. PCP&C have always done a great job with their PSU's, and with OCZ using their immense weight in the enthusiast computing industry, it will be nice to see prices fall on their products. This probably, however, will not sway me the next time I purchase a PSU, as it will most likely be another OCZ.

Thanks Paul! =)

Oh wow, this is pretty huge. PC Power & Cooling is generally considered to be the Rolls Royce of power supplies, with price tags to match, while OCZ has always maintained an extremely high bang/buck ratio. If this translates into PC Power & Cooling quality on the cheap, consumers are going to be in for a treat.

Also of interest is OCZ's overall business strategy. They have a strong enthusiast following in the memory market (myself included), and have partially translated that success into power supplies (before the buyout). They've also recently added videocards to their lineup, and you have to wonder if they'll fall into that trap of spreading yourself too thin, or if they can become fan favorites in various sectors.

Might see more combo deals as companies spread into other lines. This could be a good thing.

There is just something about PC Power and Cooling units that set them apart...

Sadly I pulled my Turbocool 510 today, and opted not to buy a Silencer series because of the sub par(compared to Turbocool) standards by which is it rated.

Instead I ordered a Silverstone OP650. If PC Power and Cooling had made an equivlent Turbocool, they would have gotten my money.
