What are you looking for? Compact, SLR-ish, lots of optical zoom, big screen, etc? If the zoom isn't all too important, I can only recommend the Canon Powershot A630. Quite inexpensive, 210, but excellent quality. But if zoom is important for you, that Kodak camera is great for its price range... unless you want to wait for a good deal for the Canon Powershot S3 IS ;)

Actually I will use it to take pictures of moving objects so main thing i want is to not have the pause that some cameras have, picture quality is a bonus as well as zoom. I am just not sure how to tell how fast you can take a picture when you push the button to the time it actually registers, Ive missed a ton of great pics due to the 1 second pause in my current camera.

sounds like you're looking for a DSLR. most of the normal digital cameras take a second or two in order to take the shot and if you are shooting moving objects, it doesn't work too well. i've got the nikon D50 and i love it. it is an entry level DSLR camera and you are looking at around $500-600. maybe prices have gone down though, you'll have to look around. i know nikon released the D40 recently. canon has some nice ones too.

I got a Canon Power Shot S3 IS, with a decent memory card, it will do around 1.8-2.5 pictures per second in "sports" mode.

My parents gave it to me for my birthday, They got it from circuit city for around $350 total I think, but that included protective carry case, 2 gig memory card, etc..
