Default new build HELPPP

i have everything else set for my new build but im confused on my CPU and MB...this is what i was thinking....

Newegg.com - Intel Core 2 Duo E6750 Conroe 2.66GHz 4M shared L2 Cache LGA 775 65W Dual-Core Processor - Retail

Newegg.com - GIGABYTE GA-P35-DS3L LGA 775 Intel P35 ATX All Solid Capacitor Intel Motherboard - Retail

my budget ranges from $900-1000...in that price range im looking for a CPU that is the most recent tech and a MOBO that works good...im also looking for everything WORTH MY MONEYY...i also want to be able to upgrade the parts without having to worry about everything being WAY out of date and then forced to replace everything....

Replace the E6750 by a E8400. As for the motherboard, it seems like a good choice to me.

If there is a final hour, let's hope for a higher power. One by one, and two by two, I have ammo, what about you?

If you have that extra money after the processor, you might consider an X38 board

The E8400 will OC much better, and run cooler......its a 45nm processor where the others are 65nm....less power, less heat.

When I read this I thought, "Good luck finding an E8400!" (I wanted one, but couldn't get one.)

Anyway, Micro Center has them for $200. Micro Center Online Search Results

Hi and welcome to HL. The HSF you chose is a good choice. It is the one I use and does the job for my application.I did run into difficulty installing it on my particular mobo though.I had to remove the fan,in order to mount it.After mounting it,I had to force the fan into position,to replace it back on the HS.The fan hits, and puts light pressure on the NB HS.Just a heads up,as to what you may or may not encounter with your install.Good luck with your build!

i was also thinking of getting a new case but thats not untill a little later but what do you guys perfer when it comes to cases...i don't want to spend more then 100 on one and i want it capable of circulating the air properly throughout the case...

i was going to use my old case but its got some age on it and it has 6 fans surrounding the case...i really dont like it IMO
