| Well my core duo is finally about ready to take a dump on me and refuse to do anything. So I need a new motherboard/cpu (heatsink?). I was originally planning on waiting until April, but I don't think I can wait that long. Any suggestions for a build for about $300 (a little more is fine, a little more is defined as $50). I was thinking maybe an E4300 and the Asus P5N-E SLI. Anyone have any other suggestions? Just so you know I won't be able to buy this until probably two or three weeks. Not sure if I'll need SLI, but why not. In case you haven't noticed I plan on overclocking it a bit. Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 at 2.4GHz Gigabyte P35-DS3R Revision 2.0 4GB DDR2 667 (Corsair XMS2 x2 and Edge Technologies x2, 4-4-4-12) eVGA 8800GTX stock clocked OCZ 700w GamerXstream power supply Antec Three 300 case Windows Vista Home Premium 32 bit with SP1 |

| Modder-ator | How about the Biostar TForce965PT? Puts you at $298.12 shipped with the E6300. I wouldn't bother with SLI unless you really think you need it because you are gaming on a 24" screen or larger... Last edited by gvblake22; February 6th, 2007 at 13:34. |

| We take both criticism and positive comments very positively | I would definitely recommend the Gigabyte over the BioStar, unless you can't exceed $300 INTEL E8400 // Gigabyte EP45 Extreme // 4GB DDR3-1600 // Palit HD 4870 // Antec 1200 // Seagate 750GB HDD // Zalman CNPS9700 // BFG ES 800W PSU |

| I'm Diggin it! | You know, I've just never had good luck with Biostar products. I've tried them three times over the last couple of years and every single time, I ended up RMA'ing and using an ASRock or ECS board. Not saying they are bad, just that my experiences with them haven't been favorable. | Will all of these motherboards support Quad cores? I kind of want to remain upgradeable so if I get more money afterwards I can upgrade without buying a new motherboard. | Modder-ator | Intel 965 and 975X chipsets should support all current Core 2 Duo and Core 2 Quadro processors. |
