Default need new computer desk

i need recommendations on a computer desk, i'm short of cash anything below$150 will be great but not sacrificing the quality, my computer desk are already starting to fall a part, i'm afraid it may collapse on my anytime...

i like metal and glass but wood furniture is also nice, i'm more on the sturdiness of the desk... i like putting heavy stuff on the table...

It's also probably worth taking a ride over to your local Ikea. It's uber-cheap and pretty damn good looking to boot! You can check out desks and computer workstations here and here.

I've got a HUGE full mahogany desk custom made...by who? My cousin! Yep, he's a cabinetmaker, and awesome at it. This desk is very very very big, and a perfect size for my setup. I need a good amount of room for other work, and the right side of my desk is my computer/monitor and all that stuff. The whole left side is for everything else. This desk is about 6 feet long, and about 3.5 feet wide (at its widest point) and 3 feet at its least wide point (there is a curve on the left side). It's just big.

I'm not sure you'd need such a big desk, but good luck in the search and I hope you grab one to your liking and what best suits your needs. And I'd also recommend dropping by Ikea before making a purchase.

Hell, ever since the tornado we had, this has been my computer desk. That technophile looking thing you've linked to isn't any better than what I have. And mine is $100 cheaper.

Ikea is not bad idea, but i dont have a car and the nearest ikea is 2 county away... then i've thought about that table quakin but, i doesnt look good to my liking, and won't fit my corner area where my computer is set... and i do own one of those quakin, i'm trying to maximize space without creating a cluter like what i have now, i need a L shape desk to fit the corner so i can get rid of the big table i'm using for reading and research, it really suck only having a studio apt. i'm waiting for a big break so i can afford a 1-2bedroom apt in my area of work...
but for now, i need an L shape table that doesn't look to shabby or to weak, enough for me to do my study and house my computer at the same time...

i have tons of books and reading materials that needs to be on the table all the time... restacking them to the bookshelf every after is to much of an effort especially lately i needed them...

i'll still go look for something, for now if i really can find anything i'll gana give my co-worker a ring if he can drive me to ikea, which will be my last ditch hope...

and btw yeah i know someone who can build me one but he live in NC now, and who is he? my old father, we never get along that much. so asking him to build me one is not worth the bother, he is a freelance carpenter...
