at least cablevision still doesn't block this. Then again, i have no clue how to use usenet, been meaning to figure out how to but yeah....

the way that story reads, they should ban CD and DVD burners for burning illegal movies... and ban VCRs because they can be used to watch it.. and ban cameras and camcorders because they can used to take the picture or movie of it...
these people make me sick. they know nothing about technology and think a blanket ban will protect against whatever they are crusading for.

they're trying that crap up here too. The government is trying to make it illegal to burn cd's or copy music to your mp3 player, even if you bought the music you have. It's getting ridiculous

I got a reply from Minister Prentice (he's the guy in charge of overseeing industry) and the law looks OK to me. I posted the whole letter on my blog. Go read it for yourself.
