Laptop recommendation

Hi guys, i need a recommendation for a laptop that doesn't go over 1500$ and i can find it in a store in Miami. I'm from Venezuela and my dad is in Miami and wants to buy a laptop for my brother, he's going to use it for the university but he also wants to be able to play games like call of duty at a decent resolution and watch movies too, would you recommend a 17inch screen size?, What brand?. Anyone from Miami that can recommend a store or an on line one that has store pick up?

I'm going to go next month to Miami and I'm gonna ask you guys for help to make my first build or this could happen but that would be in another thread.

Its hard to recommend a brick and mortar retailer like Best Buy or Fry's Electronics, they just charge such a premium.

Since they are in Florida, I'd really recommend checking out TigerDirect. Its an online retailer, but they are headquartered there in Florida. On there front page they have a pretty nice notebook advertised for $499.

But that probably wont play games at a good resolution, what you think?
The one you say is not available and i don't think it could play CoD.

Actually with the 8600M GS it will play games pretty well. Also having the 4gb of ram will help a ton as well.
The other plus side of that Laptop, it does pack a Core2Duo, which will help a lot also!!!!
That is actually a pretty good choice from the system specs

I think that would do ok at games. Not real great though.

Cause man, that system that Capper, (the owner, admin), has is one hell of a laptop man!!!!!!!!!!!!!
