Default Internet Connection

Hey i woke up this morning and turned on my pc like any other day, but the difference is that the internet doesn't work. I never changed anything or downloaded new drivers, software, etc. Ive been trying to figure out how to get my internet running again! Im connected to a router but i never had this problem before... Im running on vista so if any of you now how to fix this please help. I cant evem find the "RUN" program so i can type in ifconfig to see my ping... I dont even have network devices showing up!! Nothing is detected but the ethernet cord lights up like the moon when i look behind my case. It flickers which tells me it detects some type of connection just not to the internet. Does anyone know how i can fix this??? I've tried resetting ips, repairing the LAN, diagnosing the problem, and NOTHING seems to find any type of connection. It cant even say why its not working. It's been working fine ever since i put it together (2-3 weeks ago) All of a sudden im guessing the ethernet port is shot! I dont know if oc'ing can **** up an ethernet port but it always worked just fine ever since i hooked it up to the router. All my other computers in the house have perfection internet except for mine... Suggestions - Step by Step please :)?

Default Re: Internet Connection

have you check the Device manager if the Ethernet device is properly detected?
if not, and for some reason i can't think of, you might need to reinstall them.

what kind of IPS you got?
some of ISP like Verizon DSL have some downtime, i get disconnected from internet like every week.

did you tried updating you driver?

Windows button + Pause/Break

Hardware Tab

Device Manager

Is the network card displayed there? Is it enabled?

Thanks HL and Corsair!
