Default Got the ok for a new build!!

Lol, my wife gave me permission to build myself a new system so she can have the rig I have now and give her rig to our kids. I have a $400 limit. This is what I have come up with.

GIGABYTE GA-M57SLI-S4 AM2 NVIDIA nForce 570 SLI MCP ATX AMD Motherboard

AMD Athlon 64 X2 5400+ 2.8GHz 2 x 512KB L2 Cache Socket AM2 65W Dual-Core Processor

EVGA 256-P2-N751-TR GeForce 8600GT Video Card

Kingston 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 800 (PC2 6400) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory

Western Digital Caviar SE WD1600AAJS 160GB 7200 RPM 8MB Cache SATA 3.0Gb/s Hard Drive

all totals $398. What do you guys think?

Hhmmm, is there any reason your wanting AMD?
I'd got for a Intel E2160 over that AMD.

for the extreme low end, AMD isn't looking too bad... (IMO)

That comes to $404.54 + theres a $30 MIR on that video card so that brings the total down to $374.54 Shipped!

I just did a setup with a E2140.... almost as fast as my E6600

Yeah, there is just no reason to recommend AMD right now.
