Default Good Deal?

I came across this yesterday and could not pass it up. I bought an AMD Athlon 64 X2 4200+ and 1 Gig (2x 512) of Corsair XMS2 800MHz PC6400 memory for $70. I think I got a pretty good deal. This is my first Dual Core processor. I just don't really know what to expect from it. Bailey.

Yeah I think it is a pretty nice deal! I payed $180 for my Athlon 64 X2 4200 and that was just about a year ago now. Newegg has it listed for around $75, so you paid for the CPU and got the ram for free and the ram is listed for $67(cas 5) and $69(cas 4) for a 1G (2 x 512) kit on Newegg.

I went from a P4 2.4 POS dell to what I have now. Can't say anything bad about it.

I guess i wasn't paying attention to the guy when I got the processor and memory. I just went and got the other gig of matching memory for, get this, $10! So for $80 I got 2 gigs of Corsair cas5 and a 4200+. I'm so giddy I can't quit smiling.

you will see a nice little kick in the pants with performance over that 3000+
my upgrade was similar, XP3000+/1GB DDR to E6600/2GB DDR2

Thanks HL and Corsair!
