Default Gigabyte's Tech Talk 2007 Part I

Click the image to open in full size.
Last week I ventured out to Southern California to visit Gigabyte's US Headquarters, and over the course of 20 hrs and 900 miles (Las Vegas to LA to San Diego...and back to Las Vegas) i learned a lot.....

1. Gigabyte is extremely focused on taking the reigns of the enthusiast community.... from motherboards, to video cards, to enclosures, as well as power supplies and cooling....Gigabyte has positioned itself as a serious power player in an extremely competitive enthusiast market.

2. A road trip from Las Vegas to LA to San Diego to Las Vegas covering 20 hrs might be fun when you are 21, but at 38 I realized I'd rather sit at home and hit myself in the head with a hammer for an entire day.

3. That place in Temecula, CA. that claims "The World's Best Chiliburger"....... I'm still trying to figure out who gave them that title.....

Hey Rich you shouldn't be eating chili burgers at your advanced age. Nice write-up did Paul walk you thru it?

That Gigabyte Volar looks like a stock intel heatsink on heatpipes. Like most other's I've been really impressed by their motherboards and by how much Gigabyte has progressed in the last year.

EDIT: Picture four on the first page kind of looks like my basement. Just without the ventilation pipes, and change the boxes and computer parts to shoes.

I Like Watercooling. D-Tek Fuzion, MCP655, MCR220

Nice write-up, Rich. Great preview. I find it really surprising that Gigabyte's boards run 15C cooler than the comparable ASUS board.

Nice article Capper! Can't wait for Part II!

Did you get any info or pics from Gigabyte about their new RD790 boards? Know if they are working on an AM2+ and Socket F board? =D

they do have some AMD products in the works, but there are some problems with AMD's new processors that have caused a delay on AMD's end, which in turn have made most motherboard makers to step back and wait for AMD......really, not good news for AMD fans.

I hope AMD and ATi can pull out of their current problems otherwise there's only one game in town and thats not good for consumers.
