| Ok I’ve got another crazy idea for a mod. This one I think is the most ambitious yet, an in car entertainment system built around the most important and eye-catching feature, a mini fridge. Firstly the idea includes the following: · A computer (most likely ITX due to space restrictions) running windows XP professional and some home grown media centre software. No I don’t want to use windows media centre edition why? Because it’s very satisfying writhing your own to suit the look you want. · A mini fridge somehow fitted into the dashboard (if possible.) Along with a bit of modification to get the evil look I’m after using some gloss black paint and cold cathodes. · A touch screen around 7” to watch films play music etc. The problems: · How would you get the screen in the dash and a fridge if that’s even possible? · Where do you usually mount an onboard computer in a car? · Some more things ill think of later when they come to me · Could I open the mini fridge using software (just for the hell of it not necessary) I no this idea sounds crazy but wouldn’t it be cool? |

| We take both criticism and positive comments very positively | Have you ever looked under the dash of a car? There is no way in hell you'd fit a mini fridge in there. I'm sure you could build some sort of custom rig, maybe in the center console. I can't stand people with DVD players/TVs in their cars.....let alone something like a computer that needs so much interaction.....its about safety.....plus you have laptops for using in a car INTEL E8400 // Gigabyte EP45 Extreme // 4GB DDR3-1600 // Palit HD 4870 // Antec 1200 // Seagate 750GB HDD // Zalman CNPS9700 // BFG ES 800W PSU |

| Too expensive with the danged screens I tell you what. 15" cheaper than a 7"? Give me a freakin break. Since when is bigger cheaper? And the price they want for their systems! I could get a better one cheaper a wallyworld! Yea, that site bites. Not for the frugal in rural America that works for a livin I tell you what. DISCLAIMER; I was probably drunk when I wrote this! ![]() Where do I start? G6 350, Dell Dimension 8100, HP ZD7000, HP A630N, or the wallyworld Compaq? |

| It's a fact of life that touch-screens are $$. Not only are they more complex and costly to manufacture, there is a much smaller demand for them, resulting in a need for higher prices to ensure profitability. Plus, just like with laptops, the smaller a device is, often the more expensive it will be, as it's more difficult (and therefore more expensive) to manufacture small-scale electronics. |
