Default Build planned for end of March

I have finally decided it's time to upgrade. I'd appreciate any advice on the following build.

I already have my case and dvd burners. (Both new and bought on special)

Theres nothing more you could ask for in that build!
Except, you could get a 500GB HD....
I think that'll be a fine build!

BTW, to HL!

good setup there...may want to step up the hd space a bit to something like a 7200.11 500GB drive...but otherwise looks good

Thanks HL and Corsair!

I'd agree about the hard drive... 320 runs out fast, and it's not much more to upgrade to 500.

Could you give us some specifics on what you plan to use this system for? Also, do you have a set budget?

I do everything from gaming to video editing. I will put pushing this all to a 22" LCD monitor at 1680x1050. My budget is between $1000-2000. I'd prefer to stay low enough to possibly get a 26" monitor.

That definatly sounds doable, you can get an acer 26" monitor for 500, and I just built a computer for a friend with similar specs to yours (it had an e8400 instead of a q6600, a 680i instead of an x38, little things, but the same general price range) and it came out to ~1500, even with a new 22 in monitor and a ~80 mouse and keyboard combo.

So You should probably be able to do that with your budget.

Would 26" be too big? I know the bigger it gets the further it has to be from my face.
