| Everything looks good, be sure that's DDR2 RAM your getting. Also, that PSU might be on the small side... I think he's better off with a 8800GT at this point, too. Also, I think Intel is the way to go, if you were to buy today. Price/performance, Intel has the crown. What's his budget? I think we can make him a better box for the money. | Silence..Or I kill you! | Looks like a cool build, about the only thing I would change is the video card For the same or about the same money, you can get a 512mb 8800GT that will run circles around the 8800GTS 320! Of course that is if you can catch one in stock ![]() Also maybe think about going with the 5000 black box vs the 6000. The 5000 black has the unlocked multiplier. If there is not going to be any overclocking, then the 6000 may be a better choice. |

| HL's Technomancer | Sadly, friends don't let friends buy AMD at this point. Ask him if he can get build a Core 2 system instead, an E6550 will walk all over that 6000+ for the same price, and is highly overclockable to boot. Also as Yellow said, the PSU is too weak for that system. Something with stronger rails and more watts is needed for comfortable operation, like the 520watt Corsair I showed you last night or something else along those lines. The 8800GTS 320 isn't worth it's price anymore, the 512mb 8800GT stomps it for the same pricetag, and the 256mb 8800GT can be had for around $100 less while outperforming it slightly. |

| Price range: MAX. 1100AUD But remember he can't buy from Newegg. MSY is the cheapest store in Victoria AUS, so he will probably buy from there. | HL's Technomancer | Yeah, I know. I asked about Core 2 because usually you can find slower clocked Conroes for the same price as high end Windsors and mad overclock them past the Athlons easily. The 320mb also has some rendering issues due to it's odd memory size I've heard, so I'd consider it a last resort if he can't get a 8800GT, HD 3850-HD3870 or even a 8800GTS 640mb. |

| HL's Technomancer | Welcome to HL! Now lets see what we can do. The 6000+ is a decent processor, but I'm wondering if you can get a Core2 like the E6550 for around the same price in your area. The Core 2's are a much better investment then AMD, outperforming them and overclocking well without too much heat output. Also, the 8800GTS 320mb is no longer a good option for a GPU, can you get ahold of a 8800GT 512/256 or HD 3870/3850 around there? I'm not sure on Australian prices so I don't know what you can and can't do on your budget. |

| hmm lets see. if i got an intell chip wouldnt i have to change my motherboard? The E6550 is about $205 which is about $20 more than the 6000+. I dont think MSY stock the 8800 GT's but i can ask if they can get one in for me and how much. same with the HD 3870/3850. |
