Default budget comp. opinions?

Hey guys, been while since I've been on, I apologize, but my dad needs a cheap comp that that will last a relatively long while, what you think, everything compatible right? i think so. And should I go with xp or vista?

I think it will be a good setup, except I think you should get that E4500 Capper mentioned. It will save you some $$.

could also save a little more and get the E2XXX line which is basically a low end Core2Duo

For the price difference between the OCZ Platinum after MIR and the Corsair ValueSelect I would go the extra mile and get the Platinum.
I'd get the E4500 too though.

i figure that the e6550 is a lot more bang for only $40 more.
