Talking Bought another gaming PC

Hi guys. After building my personal gaming machine I figured I'd buy another decent gaming PC because my friends and the gf stop by often (too often ), and for the upcoming warhammer MMORPG. I came across a dell deal and had to order it. Let me know what you think!

Vostro 400
Intel Core2 Duo E6750 (2.66GHz, 1333FSB, 4MB L2)
2GB DDR2 SDRAM 800MHz, Dual Channel DT
NVIDIA 8800GT
Dell 22 inch Wide E228WFP Monitor
250GB Serial ATA Hard Drive 7200RPM, 8MB Cache
Vista Home Premium
DVD Burner and another DVD Drive
3 Year Warranty

About $1,000 total after the coupon deals

Pros:
-Out of the box it's a complete gaming system /w monitor.
-Upgrade to 4g RAM cheap off newegg in the future if needed.
-Very competitive with building from scratch prices, sometimes beating it.
-PC games shouldn't need a more powerful system to play average for a while.

Cons:
-It's a smaller case so I'll have to wait and see how it handles heat.
-Dell OEM parts and low upgradability, no overclocking (comes with the territory)
-The monitor isn't that great, but good for gaming and most 22" LCD are of lower quality panels (TN)

(the deal expired shortly after I ordered, I would have posted about it sooner!)

I think you got a good deal there!

But I'd definitely check out it's fan cooling.

For a grand ... you did ok ... the 3 year warranty might be overkill ... depends on your circumstances.

Best I could see as of late was $917 for the same setup ... but you may have had some bells and whistles not listed.

Decent setup for a sub grand deal. [Warranty could actually be a huge payoff or a waste.]

With a Dell deal ... and right selection of parts as you have chosen ... I may have saved the $129 on the warranty.

However your system teaters on high end and that warranty could be gold as well.

All my dells have been cpu heavy and I have treated them with loving quality upgrades myself.

Cept my notebook bought in July last year ... still no deals as close yet ... Got a 1.8GHZ Dual and put 4GB OCZ 800mhz in it and a 7200 RPM blade server HD ... it rocks a bit even tho the CPU is midline.

Yeah warranty is a gamble, and I treat my computers well. This will ensure it sticks around with the whole boxed-in nature of prebuilts. It's also a small case so I'm not sure how handy I'll be with it. I'm used to working in huge cases. This way I'll take it as-is and maybe the warranty pays off.

speaking of which, it's going to be funny seeing this small thing next to my thermaltake armor

I have dealt with Dell quite a bit over the years. The Army has a contract with Dell, and when I worked in the network office at Ft Carson I would have to call them almost daily. Never once did I have a problem. I have used a Dell computer at work for the past 8 years and have been satisfied with them. I have also owned 3 Dell computers, two laptops and one desktop. Every time I called the service department I was treated very well every time. My first Dell Laptop was a KIA in Iraq, and I replaced it with another one. I bought a Dell Desktop for my kids and have never had an issue with it.

Dell may do well with the sales themselves but their support and sales staff themselves are definitely a few cans short of a 6 pack.

Thanks HL and Corsair!
