| I don't know how to put this, but, I'm kind of a big deal. | The CPU wars have waged on for years, breeding both innovation and higher value for your tech dollar. But have you ever wondered what an AMD-less landscape would look like? Today HardwareLogic paints such a picture, and hopes it never becomes a masterpiece... Paul Lilly Read More and Digg It!... |

| HL's Technomancer | You said it well, Paul. If not for the Athlon 64's far more efficient architecture, we'd be sitting here with a 5GHz P4 doubling as a space heater/indoor grill. Too many fanboys don't get that, and want to see AMD burn. Also...loved the analogy with ATi's 9800XT. That thing is still somewhat competent, even for how old it is. If the same measure of quality and performance of the 9800 would have been incorporated into the 2900XT, then we'd have a real winner. |

| lol Paul I loved that blog. But you bring a lot of good points that people tend to overlook. I also help AMD stays afloat just for competetive reasons. Lets just hope they have some super plan to save the day! | Nicely put Paul. But I really think AMD dose have a little fight left. At least for me and a few other die hards out there. I really think the Quad 4's non capability in the over clocking department is going to help a little bit. But I could be very wrong about it. JM.02 |

| Great write-up Paul. We definitely need some competition on the CPU right now, although I think Intel has done pretty well with the pricing of their CPU's (they aren't too outrageous) I agree with that also. ![]() Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 + Thermalright Ultra 120 Extreme DFI Blood Iron P35-T2RL + Thermalright HR-05 IFX 2GB G.Skill 800MHz F2-6400PHU2-2GBHZ EVGA GeForce 8800GTS 320MB Silverstone Decathlon 650W Western Digital 250GB SATA II |

| yes, AMD definitely has their work cut out for them now, considering how Intel has stepped up to the plate and on the umpire for that matter, with a vengeance. I don't ever want to see a monopoly on either side of the field, due to how limited our choices would be for CPU's, chipsets, and so on. |
