| I am sure many remember the old classic 3D Pipes (sspipes) screensaver available in Windows 98 through Windows XP. It was one of those classics that seemed to adorn office cubicles for many years. Recently a question came up in another forum as to where it could be found and if it would run on Vista since it was not available in Vista. This got me to thinking about the question posed. Screen Savers (.scr files) in XP for the better part are found in the Windows/System32 folder in Windows XP and though I don't use it, it was plainly there as a small 600 kB file. OK, I right click the sspipes file and export it to a floppy disk. I move the file to the wife's Vista box and open her 3.5" floppy drive. Right click on the file and get the install option and it ran perfectly. Guessing any media would work to move the file. I also placed the file in a .zip folder and made it available for download from here: Downloads It is at the very top. Oh yeah, some time back I wrote a small simple program for doing temperature conversions. Just simple C to F and visa versa. That can be found on the same page with destructions err instructions. The program has 3 text boxes, just enter a number in the top box and that number is displayed as Degrees F and Degrees C in the lower two text boxes. The program includes an installer and uninstaller. For What It's Worth... Ron |

| I provided a link to download the file as a zip file. Use the link to get to the file and download it. Let Windows unzip the file to a convienient place like download to and open to your desktop. With the file unzipped just double click it and it will prompt is you want it to install. Windows will see it as a .scr file. Once it is instal;led it will become an option as a screensaver. Yeah, I checked: http://www.bearblain.com/downloads.htm Look for the SSPIPES download. Ron Last edited by Reloadron; 4 Weeks Ago at 08:51. |
