| LOL! I keep getting asked the same question as well. How many browsers tell you that the web site you are visiting has low encryption standards??? Opera Security Center The Opera browser is designed so you can be safe on the Internet. With Opera, you are equipped with the best tools available for safe surfing: anti-phishing technology excellent support for security protocols visual feedback on security levels automatic check for security updates I downloaded Opera years ago and I've never looked back. It's a great, powerful browser, and I don't need to look around for an alternative. - Security expert Bruce Schneier, author of "Applied Cryptography". ![]() And yes, I also use Firefox. ![]() Another new widget from Opera shows you the latest Secunia threats of all browsers. And guess which one has the fewest? ROFL! Last edited by Johnny Cool; March 7th, 2007 at 16:42. |

| When in doubt? Opera and Zone Alarm Pro work perfectly in harmony if you can use the advanced settings. "Always try to be modest. And be damn proud of it!". |

| I've always been a fan of Opera. I think the real reason I like it is because everybody uses Firefox. It has a nice interface, but the only real difference I see in it these days that sets it aside from all the others is the thumbnail it shows you of the tabs when you move your cursor over them. Every browser has it's own set of "widgets." I find myself using all three browsers everyday though, Myspace code usually looks weird in anything other than IE, I brows with Opera, and for some odd reason I browse shopping sites with Firefox because it's the only one that seems to store my credit card info correctly. |

| I don't know how to put this, but, I'm kind of a big deal. | Heh, I did a small write-up on Opera in the February issue of Maximum PC as part of the Battle of the Browsers feature. The main focus was on Firefox 2.0 vs IE7, the the runners-up section included Torpark, Flock, and Opera. In short, I like Opera and all the features that are included by default, and if it weren't for Firefox's seemingly endless array of extensions (Opera's Widgets just don't do it for me), I'd be tempted to switch. |

| Firefox 2.0 tells you whether a website has low or high encryption, automatic updates, and a nice big visual warning if a website is a phising site. Oh, and Opera has better support for web pages then Firefox? I suggest you read this. Firefox slightly outclassed Opera in HTML and XML tests. They were pretty much equal in everything else though. Please don't take offense, this thread seems like an Opera advert thread. Unless the point of this thread was to promote your browser of choice??? | Like I said, I use three different browsers because no single one does everything exactly the way I wish. Doesn't really matter what page full of charts you look at, whichever browser seems to be easier to use when you actually use it is the browser your going to support. For me, thats Opera when I'm just playing around. IE always displays wonked out pages correctly when Opera and Firefox don't, and Firefox seems to work best when I have to fill alot of forms out. The Firefox Accuweather extension is also pretty slick. |

| I use Firefox. Period. I have no intention of switching any time soon (I'd be lost without my extensions). There's a reason everyone uses it. Opera's good in its own right, but I have three problems with it: 1) It's QT-based 2) It's closed-source and 3) It doesn't support extensions. I use Konqueror every now and then, but quite honestly, it's not good for much except very basic needs. It'd be great if Apple would release the modifications they made to turn it into Safari. |

Actually, Firefox and Opera are displaying the page correctly, to W3 standards. IE's HTML support just well, sucks, and web designers have to put in hacks in their HTML for the page to work right on IE, and careless programmers will often not check the code in other browsers.
