Default Proliant 3000

Ok I got a free Compaq Proliant 3000 from my school and it keeps asking me for the ROMpaq diskette. The school doesn't seem to have the disk so does anyone know where I could possibly find a free download for it? The server is so old it obviously isn't worth taking to a shop if I can't find the diskette anywhere. Thanks.

Anyways, where does it ask for this disc? Before POST, After Post before OS loads, or after OS loads?

After Press the power button and the jet engine starts up it asks for the ROMpaq diskette. Pictures, lemme get those later cause I have to go to school now. Sorry if I answered wrong, I have never used a local server so I basically am clueless. The only reason I have it is because it was free :P

just go get ubuntu and completely forget about the joke rompaqs... it is a type of install process that requires to boot from floppies... you may be able to install win2000 or ubuntu to get around it.

Thanks HL and Corsair!

Options ROMPaq for RA4X00-attached Drives

Check the Compaq site, they seem to have a variety of drivers and firmware for the Proliant 3000

Yay, will it recognize it on a cd or does it need to be a floppy? I have never been able to find a floppy over 2mb.

I think its a series of floppies, not just a single floppy
