Default Is it the PC or Yahoo?

My wife does some of her email from Yahoo Mail, but lately - and by that I mean after I built her new system - she has been unable to access the richtext editor when she composes an email. We looked at Yahoo Mail on my computer, and I signed in with her username, and I get all the richtext editor I want. I had her refresh the page on her machine, and some of the sign in/out links move from one part of the page to another, but still no editor.

I know she has some of her AOL startup settings turned off, and her video driver is current, though running an older card. She has also had some issues playing some online video content, and I thought it might be a driver issue, but like I said, it's current.

So, could it be her PC or Yahoo?

Her specs:
BIOSTAR PT880 Pro A7 combo
P4 3ghz LGA775
1GB PC3200
WD 160GB
GF FX5500 (Forceware 93.71)
XP Pro SP2

If it's not fixed, then don't broke it!

Are you using the exact same version of Windows and IE on both computers?

Try resetting the settings under the Advanced tab of IE....
Try updating the Flash and Java (if she is using the new beta version)...
If she IS using the beat version, try switching it back to the regular version and see if it continues...
Use CCleaner to clean the crap...
run AV and AS (virus and spyware scanners)...

thats about all I can think of... I suspect it is likely to be just something between yahoo and that computer

Thanks HL and Corsair!

Yes. Both machines are running XP Pro SP2 and the current version of IE (what is that now? Ver 7...yeah)

She checked a web page she made that has java code on it, and it works, but she said it is an older version, and she is going to check her flash. She may just get both of them new. There shouldn't be too much crap in there, as this system and the new XP install isn't more than a month or two old. But I know stuff can get in there regardless. I've got CCleaner I can use in there.

You said it's been since you built that computer, so I'm wondering if it has been like this the whole time since the build or if it started sometime after the build.

If it has been that way since you installed the OS on it, I'd maybe check the Windows IE explorer security settings and compare them to your machine.

Maybe, but I don't know. She's had issues with Yahoo before, but different ones on the system I replaced. Now it's just the richtext thing giving her a headache. The video content issue has been since I put this current machine together, always getting green/black screens - but she downloaded a new version of java, and it seems to have fixed the problem, but the jury's still out on that. She looked at one vid ok, but she'll have to see if other vids give her problems or not.

I'll have to check the IE settings, but may have to wait till tomorrow for that. It's late and I got to hit it.
