Default Looking to buy new vdsl modem/router for home netw

i am looking to buy a new vdsl modem router I am actually using the speedstream 6520 but would like to know if there's something faster for home networking I have 2 pc and 1 laptop with a wireless adaptor

I'm not much of a networking guru, but I think if you are on DSL, you aren't going to get much more speed. DSL is only a step up from a dial-up connection so I don't think the fastest modem in the world is going to really help much. I think it's your connection speed that is the bottleneck, not the modem.

Although I could be wrong, so I'll give this thread a bump up to the top 10 and see if anyone else has any thoughts on the subject.

Depending on the quality of copper run to your home, DSL lines are capable of 25Mbps. Most DSL lines are about 3Mbps. That said, look on ebay for DSL modem\wireless router. I have a Actiontec one that that is less than a year old sitting in my closet...

Adding a new modem may get you like 10KB\s more if the old modem was a terd. Basically line speed is at the mercy of the telephone company..
