| So yea, my laptop will stop working (internet-wise) after 6-10 hours of being on, and I have to reboot my laptop for it to start working. >.> U have no idea why. Is there any reason it would happen? [Sony Vaio PCG-7D2L] XP Pro SP2 [should I go to SP3? 0.o!] D-Link Gamer Lounge WIRED router | ||||||||||||||

| Is the wireless card you are using an add on card that you purchased? I ask because I had a problem where I bought a high-end wireless N card for an older laptop(inspiron 1000, celeron 2.13ghz, 768mb ram etc) and it seemed like it could not provide the juice to it. ![]() Anything you see when internet stops working? Do you still have an address (Windows says you're still connected?). ![]() If there is a final hour, let's hope for a higher power. One by one, and two by two, I have ammo, what about you? | |||||||||||||||

| Sometimes my connection cuts out (wireless) when Windows has to reacquire my network address. Happens quite frequently actually, not sure if it's related to your issure though... | Well it is incredibly random, for instance, my dad's laptop has worked fine for several months, and then last week it stopped working, and then mine stopped working, and then the wireless (I have the 4th port from the D-Link plugged into a Wireless AP) wouldn't get internet, and then my laptop randomly gets internet again, and so forth. It couldn't be anything to do with the ISP, cuz it works fine on mine when my dad's doesn't work, and visa versa. Is there any reason at all that internet randomly ceases to function? This is the first time its ever happened to me/us........ | ||||||||||||||

| My laptop and my mom's is on the same network. Sometimes when she is on I can't get internet and vise versa. My friend had the same problem with his computer and his parents being on the same network. Maybe it's an issue with not enough bandwidth for more than one computer? IP address issues? I really have no idea. Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 | DFI Blood Iron P35-T2RL | 2GB G.Skill 800MHz | EVGA GeForce 8800GTS 320MB | Silverstone Decathlon 650W | Western Digital 250GB SATA II | ||||||||||||||

| I would say a bad router then, nothing else I can think of. that would randomly drop connections like that. ![]() Thanks HL and Corsair! My opinions are my own and not representative of this site or its members. | ||||||||||||||

My friend said it was the router's fault.... Maybe it is. But I see no reason to get a new one until Summer, cuz there won't be 4 people in this house using the internet till then after Jan 6th. | |||||||||||||||
