Default Hosting Solutions?

I'm wondering about some hosting because there's just some little things my GoDaddy host is bugging me about, especially the 10MB email accounts... :)

Now, 1&1 seems to be throwing all these features and stuff in MPC ads (for like the last gazillion years). It basically appealed to me, seeing all this stuff is coming for $2.99!

Anything good about this guys? My friend who helps run the site said he heard it's crap.

Thanks all,
Sameer

Stay as far away from 1&1 as you can....absolutely the worst customer service I've ever seen (unless you consider 45-60 minutes on hold good). I'd personally recommend InMotion Hosting (which we use) or Lunar Pages

'Tis a blog... My partner's being weird about it though and doesn't want me to make connections between the me and the site... I guess it's so no one really knows that we're just kids. I told Rich though in a PM... other than that, yeah.

Well talk to Zambini, he has some hosting still I do believe.

But yea, 1 and 1 is pretty crappy for the most part. There sites usually load up reeeeeeaaaaaaal slow, and as Capper said, don't even try to get any customer service!!!!

I am currently using netfirms for hosting and they are pretty good, can't really say if they have good customer service because never needed to call them about anything in the first place.

For $4.95/Month I get:
6GB space
300GB transfer/month
10 e-mails @ 100MB each
PHP + mySQL support

Check out the comparison chart on the web site, but also keep in mind that for some items it says that you have to upgrade to a higher package, phpBB forum for example, it's marketing tricks, I installed my forum without problems on the basic plan.

Well, I don't know how much bandwith we use completely, but I think we get like 250GB/month right now, which is more than enough I think. We get like an assload of emails, but only the main one is 2GB; rest are 10MB (what's up with that difference).

Just updated my hosting plan to the next level:

100GB storage
750GB bandwidth/month
100 emails @ 500MB each
2 free domain names

+ 30 mySQL databases, SSH, Cron, log files, 10 FTP, etc...

Now I'm in business.
