Default x1950pro Overclocking

Hey,

I decided its time to overclock my GPU and I ran into a problem. I can't seem to overclock the x1950pro by much :S A few MHz higher and the screen starts to go black. I read in some places that the x1950pro doesn't support OCing. Is this true? Is there anyway I can overclock it? If so, how and what clocks did people get?

The X1950 Pro and X1950 GT don't overclock very well. I would just let it be if it depended on me.

Trust me, 20mhz is still alot for a X1950 Pro. Most people can't do a 15mhz increase on the GPU with ATITool, Ati Tray Tools and RivaTuner.
However, you might be more successful using Catalyst Control Center Overdrive function. :)

I tried that. It only OCs it by 6MHz and the memory by like 20MHz. I get better results in ATITools :) That 20MHZ to core gave me a 50 mark increase in '06! w00t lol

hmm... wanna trade for that x1900 XT? :P

You have the HIS IIRC?

What are the stock clocks on it? Is it the turbo? The turbo is already overclocked (620/740 IIRC) so you may not get much more out of it.

My Sapphires come set at 580/700. I can take them to 630/730 easily using Tray Tools, with the stock voltages and cooling. With the case open and a fan blowing on them they'll do 640/740 (72hr+ GPU folding stable).

Laptop: Dell 640M | T2050 | 2x 512MB | 120GB | intel A/B/G | Bluetooth

It seems that it was the HIS x1950PRO Turbo. I managed to overclock it by a bit, but it doesn't stay stable in games >_< I wish I was told they were overclocked =/ I thought HIS just used higher speeds because it had the better cooling. Oh well.

Do you think that with LC, you could overclock the overclocked card even higher?

Thanks,

Probably. I also have two of them in the system, which makes overclocking harder.
