Default When should I raise FSB??

Right now I decided to oc to 3.2ghz rather than 3.6ghz just because of temps. They are so much lower and more stable. Well the thing is I just did a 24 hour stress prime test and no errors nothing.

My voltages for the cpu that passed were 3.25 w/ fsb at 3.0.

Should I lower the fsb to 2.0 or just leave it at 3.0?

Because what if I keep testing and lets say CPU voltage is 2.95 stable w/ 24 hour test on orthos. This would mean that cpu voltage 2.95 is lower than fsb which is 3.0.

When is it necessary to lower or higher FSB voltages?

my suggestion...

just leave the damn system alone... you keep up the constant tweaks and the entire system will just die one day and refuse to post from a BIOS fry, zapped mobo or other problem...

systems that are constantly tweaked and messed with for as long as you have tend to die a few months later. If you plan on keeping this system for at least 1-3 more years... find a stable level, set it and forget it
the video card will not overclock
the system is stable and much cooler

run Folding@Home 24/7 for a few weeks and keep an eye on your cpu temps... if it ever gets over 58șC then your system is oc'd too much, step it down a notch.

again, provided it is stable and cool enough: set it and forget it

Thanks HL and Corsair!

Talking Re: When should I raise FSB??

Hi,
I'd just disregard that,
I'm not really qualified to answer that question, but I dont any reason why you cant take the voltage your talking about down a notch and run your tests again.

Anyways, as far as RISK and Overclocking go...If done correctly you will get YEARS out of an overclocked machine, so much so that you will have to upgrade before there is any real risk involved. Obviously you have to consider Heat and all the rest of it as you know yourself about Voltages.

Here is a link for those worried about killing there PC's through Overclocking:

Lol listen screwball I am already on that yellow brick road to finally setting it and forgetting it. I didn't say my temps which are EXTREMELY LOWER than they were when it was on stock speed with the zalman 9700.

Now with the Cooler Master Geminii temps at idle are 30C and at full load its 42C at highest!! I'm amazed with what the cooler master geminii can do and I recommend this cpu cooler to anyone ESPECIALLY with the arctic 12 fans. Quite honestly I'm more than just simply amazed.

Orthos running right now with the CPU voltage at 1.315 @ temps of 39-42C!! I'm not going to go higher I'm just testing until I get the lowest voltages for stability.

My question is with my pc at CPU Voltage set to 1.315 and my FSB Voltage set to 1.3, should I step my fsb down a notch to 1.2?? That is my main question! That's my final question for ever oc'ing this system ever again!
