| I lowered my Core 2 Duo back down to 3.0 GHz to have some better temps... and then I set my ram to 4-4-4-12-t1 and ran memtest86+. After that ran for the night without any errors, I decided to run the stress tests again just to make sure my cpu temp wouldn't get more than a couple degress above 60C. When I came back from class, my computer was locked up and now I can't get it to boot up windows (even tried putting in my installation disk, couldn't even get to that) I tried this after loading the defaults back to my mobo. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated... | We take both criticism and positive comments very positively | You might have to loosen the memory to 2T.....higher density kits don't typically like the tight command rate. | Bowser pwner. | I would make sure the BIOS chip is secured in the mobo. There was a guy over on XS with the same problem you've got and he couldn't figure out what was going on. He tried everything, but then a guy said "why don't you check the BIOS chip to make sure it's in, push on the BIOS chip until it clicks." The guy with the problem did this and his comp booted right up. Not sure if it'll help but it's worth a try at least :) |

| We take both criticism and positive comments very positively | OK, go back through all of the BIOS settings one at a time to make sure everything is configured correctly. As its a 680i board and you are using a Q6600, there might be a conflict in a setting somewhere. I don't have an 680i board in front of me to verify settings, but I can almost guarantee its a simple setting thats preventing you from booting up correctly. | When Windows finally started up, it said it had recovered from a serious error and Microsoft said device drivers were the problem. Now on a small tangent... How can I check my memory timings to see if everything is running correctly? Should I set it to 4-4-4-12-2T and run any specific program? | We take both criticism and positive comments very positively | use CPU-Z, it will tell you what your latencies and clock speed are. INTEL QX9650 // Gigabyte EP45 Extreme // 8GB PC2-8500 // BFG GTX260 MaxCore // DD Torture Rack // Seagate 750GB HDD // OCZ Vendetta // PC Power & Cooling 620W PSU |

| I'm Diggin it! | Use CPUz. After changing your settings, look on the memory tab. It will tell you what your current settings are. Edit......Damnit....Capper beat me to it.
