Ok, first place to start,,,,, stand up, bang your head against the wall about 4 or 5 times, slap your self a couple of times and you will be just about ready to endure the frustration of beginning to Overclock

Okay lets begin, first prepare your state of mind to accept that ANY gain is a bonus and that you can be happy with the none overclocked system.

Okay with that out of the way lets get the particulars. Without us having to look through threads please list what CPU, CPU Cooler, case and RAM you are using..

Cry havoc and let loose the dawgs of overclocking..

Well I am assuming that it is the system in his sig

Of which I am not familiar with that motherboard.

odd I dont see a sig..

Okay I saw the sig :-) Had to look in his profile very odd.

You have a TON of overclocking room. I would start with just raising the FSB. Now, to do this however you need to watch the memory speed setting. Raise the FSB to 300 and drop the memory multipler to 2.6.

I would set the fans in the case to medium for now and the VX set to high. Also google Speedfan and downlaod it to keep track of your core temps.

Our goal is to get your system running smooth under load and keeping your top core temp below 60c. If we can we want to do this WITHOUT bumping voltage.

You can start lower if you like, my experience has been that most Core2 will go to 300 FSB with little issue. If it does not work there we lower until we find the highest we can go with stock voltage and stock multipler.

Just start upping the FSB (Front Side Bus) until it becomes unstable then up the voltage and repeat uptil you are happy. I hear that motherboard and CPU combo are very overclockable. (Unlike my motherboard and CPU combo!)

Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 + Thermalright Ultra 120 Extreme
DFI Blood Iron P35-T2RL + Thermalright HR-05 IFX
2GB G.Skill 800MHz F2-6400PHU2-2GBHZ
EVGA GeForce 8800GTS 320MB
Silverstone Decathlon 650W
Western Digital 250GB SATA II
