Default Sharing Latest OC

Click the image to open in full size.

well i got nothing to do lately so i play with my computer OC capability, so here it is, a 20% increase on speed and a considerbably 10C increase from my previous temp at stock speed... running at almost 70C at full load with my Zalman, and at 45C at idle, what do you think about this temp should i be concern or should i consider a H2O cooling... and actually i have my eye and saving on Dangerden H2O cooling, but i don't know if i can fitt it inside the Coolmaster Ammo case i got...

if i consider should i go for the 120mm raidiator or the larger one... what do you think? and should i consider also a H2O cooling with my video card which i have no plan of OC at all.

You might actually remove the cooler and reapply thermal paste/reseat it....

i actually did that already,... no change...

btw this is default voltage no adjustment on that... just the fsb mch and etc, and for me to be able to do that i have to downgrade my memory speed to 667mhz coz it wont go stable if i don't...

Your temperatures make me uneasy, but on the other hand, I like to keep my cpu temperatures low (40ish on load).

As for H20... A swiftech kit can be had for fairly cheap and you can have it external so space constraints become a thing of the past. A single 120mm radiator is sufficient for a cpu only setup while a dual will provide you with additional cooling or quieter operation.

If your considering on going H20 and want to start off with something easy, take a look at these:
Swiftech H20-120
Petra's Tech Shop
Good starter kit that uses 3/8 tubing. Can be expanded but not very well.
Petra'sTech Coolkit Basic Rev.2
Petra's Tech Shop
Better kit. I'd suggest getting this one.

If you don't want to go the kit route, I can suggest parts.

You can upgrade your air cooling too if you'd like. Try a Ninja or Tuniq tower.

I Like Watercooling. D-Tek Fuzion, MCP655, MCR220

Those temps are not the same temp that is the Intel spec temp. Programs like SpeedFan, bioses ect detect the temp that is Intels Spec. Honestly I don't even use TAT, Coretemp anymore because the temp they read is irrelevant to Intel's guidelines.

That said, the temps seems a wee bit high. As Capper suggested, clean off TIM and re-apply, I use a dot in the center of CPU method.

What is fan speed on the Zalman? You can plug the header directly into MB for extra few hundred RPM.

When you cleaned the CPU and HSF, did you use some good 91-97% alcohol? You might try going to Home Depot or Wal-Mart and getting some de-natured alcohol to make sure the surfaces are good and clean....for no voltage adjustment and a modest OC, those temperatures are a bit high.

A second thought would be the ambient temperatures, try removing the side panel from your case, as you might have some restrictive air flow causing the high temps

I've said it before and I'll say it again. Your max temp is 61C. Since you aren't even near the high end of the voltage spectrum for your CPU, something isn't right. Either the fan isn't working on the CPU cooler or it's turned waaaay down to the lowest setting. You need to get this figured out and quick.

Barring a CPU fan issue, do as Capper has suggested. Check to make SURE your CPU cooler is seating properly. You can do this by putting the one thin line down the middle of the CPU IHS as stated in Arctic Silver's directions. Then, place the CPU cooler on the CPU and twist it back a forth a few times....you may not be able to turn it much. Lock the CPU cooler down.

Now, take the cooler back off. If that line of compound hasn't spread out considerably from the center, your cooler isn't making contact like it should.

If that turns out to be good, then closely examine your case airflow. You may need to work on that.

i did use a 70% alcohol for this is the only thing available at this time...

well, i made this far Click the image to open in full size.

idle at 44C
full load at 59-60C
Fand Speed 2800rpm
newly applied AS5

i'll ganna run a 24hr stress test if i don't get a shutdown i'll keep the setup...

edit:
i had a shutdown episode... so i'm going down to 3.0ghz
running stress test now... see yeah guys later...

That's a lot better. While running 2 x F@H, my temps are in the mid 50's, usually 54 to 55C. That's with 1.352 voltage as read by CPU-z and 3.375Ghz. If I start TAT's built in loading utility, my temps will go to 64C and stay there. So my house may be a few degrees cooler than yours, which would make up for the temp difference. Running Orthos Prime, I max out at 55C.
