Default OC'ing temps

Well.....I ran orthos today for about 3 hours to check on the temps. After lapping the heatsink, cpu, overclocking to 3.217, modified my case and with the cheese cloth air filters...my temps are running about 44c under load. The room is about 73-75f. idle is about 22c.

I don't think the as-5 is cured good yet, so temps should only get better. I can't say I noticed any real difference before and after lapping as of yet....but I figured..."it could only help the temps".

You can, but unless you know what you are doing, we don't recommend it....as it doesn't take much to ruin a perfectly good CPU for a 5-6C temp difference. I've seen people get water from the sanding under the IHS, people lap the processor wrong, making the IHS uneven, and people get metal flakes under the IHS and on the pins, shorting out the processor and board.

I'd recommend a good aftermarket cooling solution, a good case, and overclocking in moderation.
