Default OC'ing

Ok I got a Antec PSU installed now so I'm ready to start OC'ing this rig. Where do I start? I have memtest as well as the other recommended benchmarking utilities already.

I'm not sure where I should post this thread so if a mod would like to move it feel free to do so.

FIrst thing to try would to go into the bios, and the hardware tweaking section/OCing section/wich ever applies.

I would only raise the bus speed by about 5Mhz at a time. I was able to hit about 2.05GHz with stock volts on my winchester.(I have a particualy bad winchester too...)

Remember though, BUS/HyperTransport speed x CPU multiplier=CPU speed

Never mind for now I'm still having random shutdowns. I'm going to reinstall XP and just install needed programs to see if I still get shutdowns.

Hard, it justs shuts down and the blue screen has different error messages each time. I'm backing up files right now to the second HDD and DVD's. It will go for hours sometimes and other times shut down within a few minutes.

I ran memtest and the ram looks good so thats off the list. I might have more than one thing causing the shutdowns so thats why I figured it was best to reinstall the OS with minimum apps on it and see what happens then.

Default OC'ing

Ok the system seems stable now after I reinstalled XP. How do I proceed with OC'ing? A list in order of what to do would be great. Also what benchmarking programs do I run and in what order.
