Default OC'ing

Ok I got my new rig up and running and now I'd like to try overclocking. The rig is in my sig and what I need to know is where to start and how. Do you start with the ram or proc or FSB or do I really need to wait until I get a better PSU?

WAIT!!!! Until you get a better PSU Joker. I wouldn't take the chance of f'n something up with some single rail, run of the mill powersupply. Just be happy that you have it up and running good for now. Once you get a good dual rail power supply, then start playing with the bios.

Or a SINGLE 12v rail PSU with like >32A 12V. Though a good dual 12v rail PSU will work good.

Thanks for the warning guy's. I was going to wait I just want something to read for now to get some idea whats going on. I've OC'd my video card before but I'm a lot more hesitant about OC'ing my proc. I just read some of the guide and seeing that I have to increase voltage was a warning in itself.

Yea the bad thing about reading up on oc'ing is, then it makes you just want to do it anyhow

I ran an overclocking web site for over 2 years, and had to warn a lot of people about the hazards of the hobbie!!!!

Well reading about OC'ing gives me a headache. I don't understand half of what I'm reading so I may end up skipping OC'ing altogether. Last thing I want to do is screw something up on my rig. The artical is too technical for a **** like me.

Nooooo, we'll be here to help you along....its a technical manual for those using crazy boards like DFI...But on a board meant for simplicity and easy OCing like that ECS, it'll be a snap

Yep, I agree cap, it really is a easy step!!!

Please don't get me wrong joker, I am not trying to steer you away from overclocking, I just don't want you to screw up your killer new system due to a generic power supply!!!
