Cool Need help with windows vista ram speeds and OC!!

Since i have windows vista i've been reading around and people say its better to have 4-4-4-12 rather than my current setting which is at 5-5-5-15... I thought this was a better set up cuz of the high latency... I guess not... I also have my pc OC'ed to 3.5ghz at 1.45v and i want it to go to 3.6ghz.. I tested the 3.6ghz with the same 1.45v but after 2 mins and 30 seconds of running orthos it stopped...

Im stable at 3.5ghz with these voltages which are:

CPU : 1.45v
Mem: 2.20v
FSB: 1.40v
HT(spp-mcp): 1.45
PCI-E: 1.35v
Nforce: (auto - 1.50v)
AUX: (auto - 1.50v)

Can anyone give me some input on my timings for memory and oc to 3.6ghz!!??

you might have reached the "sweet spot", there comes a point where your components plateau, meaning that going any further will require more of a voltage boost than is really worth it. Then again, you might have just reached the limit of a component in your system, and regardless of what you do it may not go any further
Personally I'd be very happy with 3.5GHz, and call it a day.

I don't know how to put this, but, I'm kind of a big deal.

It's true that lower timings equal higher performance, but there's a rub. The performance hit incurred from running higher timings is most notable when benchmarking and next to nil when it comes to real world performance. Also, when you get into moderate to heavy overclocking, it's often necessary to loosen the timings. That's not a bad thing though, because a higher clockspeed trumps lower timings; for example, you'll see far greater performance running 3.5GHz with 5-5-5-15 timings than you will by running at stock (2.4GHz) with tighter 4-4-4-12 timings.

You could try running 5-5-5-18 and/or raising your memory voltage a tick or two (I wouldn't go higher than 2.4V). Really though, I'm Capper on this one with being satisfied at 3.5GHz.

Hmm whats weird is that 5-5-5-18 was the default settings, but i put it down to 5-5-5-15 cuz the specs when i bought it said it was 5-5-5-15 on newegg. So i just decided to reduce the last one... Im also running vista and i read some things saying its better if i lower it... I actually tried last night but i got an error on start up saying f1 to continue or delete to set up... Well i just went back and reset the timings to 5-5-5-15... Because of vista i think my pc slows down on a couple of games too such as F.E.A.R and Oblivion at times... I thought my 8800gtx would have been faster but it's not... I want a smoother gameplay with the highest amount of graphics, speed, performance, quality, and reliability. I really do want to oc my graphics card too... Oh and my mem speed is at 1000mhz but says 990mhz in bios and my mem v is 2.2. I dont think i should higher that with 5-5-5-18 latency what u guys think? Could anyone also give me a program where i can test my graphics card?? I wanna improve every bit of this 3000$ computeR!!!

From what I've heard, the Vista 8800GTX drivers are pretty bad at this point, and its better to run the 8800 with Windows XP until the Vista drivers mature.
